Three Reminders!
A Call to Action and Dates for Your Diary
There is so much going on at the moment, it’s hard to keep up. So we thought we’d send you a re-cap of some important dates coming up, as well as an urgent call to action.
Progressive Education founder, Jo Symes and Alex O’Neill from Limitless are working on the following three initiatives together this month…
1. Please complete our survey if your child attends or if you work at a part-time learning community
This includes anything from forest schools, tutor groups, Alternative Provision, home education gatherings (whether parents/carers stay or not) etc.
The Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill was announced in December 2024 and has direct implications for part-time education provisions in England and Wales. This Bill is progressing through parliament quickly right now, without proper scrutiny.
We want to show the impact that these provisions make, so that key stakeholders in the House of Commons and the House of Lords can make informed decisions about the direction of the Bill and the education of our children and young people.
(If you live outside of England and Wales, you are still invited to take part as the data collected will be useful, so that in the future, we can show the wider global impact too.)

2. Your invitation to our next webinar
Please join us for our webinar next week on Wednesday 12th November at 7.30pm GMT where you will be introduced to The Bramblewood Project, which started in 2017 by two mums who wanted children from Worcester city (west-central England) to be able to play freely together in nature.
Bramblewood now nurtures multiple consent-based, self-directed learning communities for children who attend alongside, or as an alternative to mainstream school.

3. EMPOWER Event for founders of start-up schools and learning communities
This FREE event on 18-20th November will give you a boost of support and help you move further forwards in your mission.
3-Day Facebook Challenge
Limitless podcast host, Alex O’Neill will be live in the Progressive Education Group on Facebook from 18-20th November. On each of the three days, Alex will offer practical action tasks and accountability, to help move you forward in creating your dream school or learning community.
Empowerment Webinar
Your 3-day challenge will culminate in a live webinar on Thursday 20th November at 7.30pm GMT. We will start with an ‘Ask the Expert’ Q&A with Lumiar and Streams Learning Hub.
This will be followed by an inspirational ‘What’s Your Dream?’ session with author and entrepreneur/investor, Simon Squibb, who will be here to guide aspiring education start-ups towards success.
